Terms of Service
Effective 2026-04-28.
1. What you’re agreeing to
PureGuard is a real-time content blocker operated as a ministry project of the Prodigal Sons Project (“PSP,” a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit). By creating an account or installing PureGuard on a device, you agree to these Terms.
2. Pricing
- Monthly subscription: $5 USD per month, billed monthly. Cancel any time.
- Annual subscription: $50 USD per year, billed annually. Cancel any time; refunds for unused months are at PSP’s discretion.
- Free tier: $0 forever, available on simple self-attestation. We never ask for proof of income. Free-tier users get the same product as paid users.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. PureGuard never stores your card details.
3. What we do with the money
100% of subscription revenue, after Stripe processing fees, goes to the Prodigal Sons Project to fund its ministry work — supporting a believer assembly in Kampala, Uganda and an orphan home in Bugiri, Uganda. Operating costs (servers, domain registration, code-signing certificates) are paid from PSP’s general funds the same way any nonprofit’s operating costs are.
4. Failed payments
If your subscription payment fails, your account stays in a 7-day grace period during which you keep full access. If the payment hasn’t recovered after 7 days, your account is automatically downgraded to the free tier. We don’t lock you out — we just stop billing you.
5. What we promise about the product
- We promise to make our best honest effort to detect and blur explicit and suggestive content in real time.
- We do not promise that PureGuard is “unbreakable.” A determined user with admin rights on their own device can bypass any client-side filter eventually. This is true of every product in this category.
- We do not promise zero false positives. The model occasionally over-blocks fitness, fashion, medical, or art content. We tune for low false positives but they exist.
- We do not promise the AI will catch 100% of explicit content. Adversarial content can sometimes slip through.
6. What you promise us
- You’ll only install PureGuard on devices you own or have permission to manage.
- You won’t reverse-engineer the apps to defeat them on someone else’s device.
- You won’t use the service to harass, surveil, or coerce anyone — including anyone you’ve set up Partner Mode with.
- If you’re using PureGuard to manage someone else’s device (a child, a household member who consented to accountability), you’ll be honest with them about what it does.
7. Account termination
You can cancel and delete your account at any time, free or paid, by emailing letsgo@pureguard.ai. We can terminate accounts that abuse the service (excessive API calls, harassment, attempts to attack our infrastructure). If we terminate yours, we’ll tell you why and refund any unused subscription time.
8. No warranty
PureGuard is provided “as is.” We can’t promise it will work perfectly, that it will catch every piece of bad content, or that it will be available 100% of the time. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our liability for anything that goes wrong is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the issue.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
10. Changes
If we change these Terms in a substantive way, we’ll email every active account at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
11. Contact
Email letsgo@pureguard.ai. A real person reads every email.
