Most people who struggle with pornography aren’t hunting for it. They’re scrolling Reels, TikTok, X, and Reddit when something suggestive lands in front of them — and the next ten minutes go somewhere they didn’t plan.
Every existing “blocker” either blocks the obvious sites (and misses the gateways) or treats grown adults like children with loud red alerts that make the rest of the household wonder what they were doing.
PureGuard is built for the actual problem: the gateways. Quietly, on-device, in real time.
A small open-source vision model (about 6–15 MB) checks what’s on screen a few times a second. Nothing leaves your device — no images, no video, no browsing history.
Explicit content gets blocked outright. Suggestive content on Reels/TikTok/X is blurred and the video pauses. A small banner says “paused — tap if intentional.” No noise, no shame, no one nearby can tell.
Pick partner mode (text-only count alerts, no URLs), an anonymous peer group, or a private AI coach for embarrassed users who haven’t told anyone yet. Uninstalling requires partner approval or a 24-hour cooldown.

Statistically, young men make up the largest percentage of people struggling with pornography — but women struggle too, often more quietly because of the extra layer of cultural shame on it. PureGuard is for both, equally. Many of the people who need this most are at points in life where $5 a month is a real strain alongside everything else. That’s who the free tier is for. Take it without shame; we built it for you.
One ask in return: please don’t abuse the system. You’re here because you want to do better — don’t start by doing worse. The paid tier ($5/mo, less than half what most blockers charge) is priced as low as we can keep it. The people who can pay are the reason the people who can’t still get the full product.
Pay it forward
The people using the free tier are often students, men and women early in their careers, parents stretching every dollar. $5 a month for a content blocker isn’t happening for them on top of rent and groceries.
If you can spare a few dollars beyond your own subscription, you can cover someone else’s. We pool sponsorships and apply them to free-tier accounts in order. The recipient is never told who paid. They get the full product — no nag, no shame, no IOU.

PureGuard is a ministry project of the Prodigal Sons Project. Every dollar that comes in — minus only Stripe processing fees — goes directly to PSP’s ministry work.
PSP supports The Netseriym, a believer assembly in Kampala, Uganda walking in obedience to the whole Word of Yahuah, and Mighty Orphans, a home in Bugiri, Uganda where orphaned children are fed, sheltered, educated, and discipled in the Way, Truth, and Life.

Every subscription dollar lands in the Prodigal Sons Project’s Stripe account. Stripe takes their processing fee (about $0.45 on a $5 charge). The rest funds PSP’s ministry work — the assembly in Kampala, the orphan home in Bugiri, and the discipleship that goes with both. PureGuard’s operating costs (servers, domains, code-signing certificates) are paid from PSP’s general funds the same way any ministry expense would be. Annual transparency reports will list every Stripe transfer.
No. A determined user with full admin rights on their own device can defeat any client-side filter eventually. PureGuard is built for the willing user who chose accountability — high friction, partner alerts on tamper, and unremovable mode if you opt into MDM. Marketing it as unbreakable would set you up for shame when you bypass. It’s a covenant tool, not a prison.
Yes — in browsers and on Android, full real-time blur. On iPhone, you use the PureGuard Browser app to access Instagram/TikTok/X/Reddit; the native apps are restricted via Screen Time. Apple doesn’t allow apps to read pixels from other apps, so this is the only path that actually works on iPhone. The web versions of those apps are 90% as good as native.
No. Alerts only ever say “Instagram flagged 3 times today” or similar — a count and a surface family. Never a URL, never a screenshot, never the content itself. URLs are not even sent to our servers. Privacy is non-negotiable.
Real and honest issue. We use a two-stage model: first detects anatomy/skin, then a context model checks if it’s a gym, beach, runway, art, or medical setting. There’s a sensitivity slider for the borderline cases. We test against synthetic safe datasets with hard accuracy gates before any release.
Because the people who need this most often have the least. $5 is enough to fund meaningful ministry work; anything more would gatekeep the people we’re trying to help. If $5 is still too much, the free tier is real — same product, no questions asked.
